Who is Nobody Knows Stefan?

Nobody really knows Stefan, or at least that’s what he thinks…

Stefan was born, way too early, about 2 decades ago and has therefore now reached the age where he has to think for himself and do things he doesn’t like to do. And things he does like to do. One thing Stefan likes to do, is playing the guitar and writing songs to play on that same guitar (he actually has three guitars, but that doesn’t matter right now).

Stefan started playing guitar when he was about 10 years old, and has never really put it aside ever since (except to sleep, study, eat, drink and the times that his fingers started to hurt). He even taught his best friend Mischa how to play the guitar, and after discovering there were decent bands playing acoustic music, they decided to form their own. That was the birth of Plain in 2002. Three years of fun followed, ending in the release of a single in early 2005. It was then Plain went separate ways, Mischa flying to Finland for 7 months, and Stefan focussing on his studies.

But well, he kept listening to music. And playing music. And writing music. He never really stopped. After a year of writing Stefan started recording demos on his MP3 player. In Spring 2006 Stefan released his first online demo EP Sessions #1. The Sessions series is something Stefan wanted to do for a long time… This is not a professional studio recording, but just a home session… 1 take, 5 songs, no editing. Pure and spontanious. After a while though, Stefan got annoyed by the low quality of his recordings and decided Stefan that his next release would be a recording of better quality. In pursuit of ways to record this recording, Stefan studies Dutch Language and Culture. That doesn't make sense at first, but in fact does when you realise that education lead to jobs and jobs lead to money and money leads to a studio...

For now, he pretends he’s alone and sad. Because when you do that, you write the best songs. So meet Stefan… Nobody knows him… Or at least that’s what he thinks.
